‘Cartel’ star Pranati Rai Prakash on working with Supriya Pathak: She would tell us about her theatre activities – Times of India

Miss India 2015 runner up Pranati Rai Prakash, Tanuj Virwani, and Rithvik Dhanjani‘s new series, ‘Cartel‘ released today. The show is set in present-day Mumbai and narrates the story of five crime lords operating out of different areas. Recently, in an exclusive chat with ETimes, Pranati, who plays Sumi in the show, opened up about her on-screen mom Supriya Pathak and the time they spent together off-screen.

Expressing her joy of getting the privilege of working with her, Pranati gushed, “She plays my mother on screen and my character, Sumi, is very attached to her. So, there were emotions of love. She’s great; off-camera, she was very warm to us. She would tell us about her theatre activities. I have huge respect for her and that’s the bond we share–one of respect and kindness”.

Recently, Pranati had also spoken to us about the show. Throwing some light on her character, she shared, ”My character Sumi is a sweet, emotional, lively girl who aspires to be an actress and is very driven towards her goals. She loves her family. Certain events in life make her life tough and her journey is followed by her transformation from being naive to someone really strong and ready to take on the world”.

On the work front, Pranati was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Love Aaj Kal’ starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan.
