No money-minting or fans movie shows from now in Andhra Pradesh? – Times of India

It is known that the AP Government is showing enthusiasm for movie tickets and the movie business as a whole for quite some time now. The state government has expressed discontentment over the fan shows, benefit shows, film ticket prices, and its occupancy in Andhrapradesh. Whereas on the other hand, the Telugu film industry is facing several other issues in terms of its releases.

The Government has objected to any extra shows for popular star films and scrapped any hike in the ticket prices though permitting half occupancy at the theaters starting with Pawan Kalyan starred ‘Vakeel Saab’.

Now big-budget moviemakers are reported to be very saddened with these decisions of the government and aren’t coming forward to release their movies under these circumstances.

As per the latest reports, the AP government is very busy developing a new web application connecting all the film theaters in Andhra Pradesh, making sure soon a movie ticketing portal is available from the government bodies to the public.

This will also put an end to all sorts of movie
Hungama, such as benefit shows, fan shows, and other money-minting shows in AP, despite Telugu people being known for their movie madness across the country. Telugu states are also known to be having more no. of film theaters in India.

Earlier it used to be common to sell tickets at high rates when a big star film with a big budget gets released for the initial weekends or on the day of its release. For the past two years, no big film has seen the theaters due to the obvious reasons of the covid pandemic.

If these sorts of circumstances continue in AP, the future of Big films in AP will be very bad not just for the fans but equally for the filmmakers. There are also several other issues in the film industry such as online piracy, entertainment tax, hike in the daily wages of film workers, direct OTT releases, IPL, Bigg Boss, poor footfall & half occupancy at the theaters, and several other hidden things.

The new government didn’t take any initiative to control online piracy yet and is keen on controlling the ticketing process and its prices. However, these sorts of guidelines aren’t yet implemented in Telangana, but Telangana too was against the benefit shows for a long time.
