Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is on a career-high with back to back successes of his film ‘Tanhaji‘ and ‘Bhoot Police’. While the historical drama was the last big Bollywood blockbuster before the lockdown, his recent horror-comedy co-starring Arjun Kapoor gained quite the viewership on an OTT platform.

Reacting to the success of the film, and the appreciation coming in for his role as a Tantrik, Saif said, “There are certain scripts that you read and fall in love with immediately because you see the potential they hold. You find it important that it gets made in a certain way because you have a lot of hope with that kind of script. ‘Bhoot Police’ is certainly one of them! This is a movie that is very close to my heart.”

He further added, “We don’t have box office numbers and the same rules don’t apply.”

The actor who has sons Taimur Ali Khan and baby Jeh Ali Khan keeping him on his toes these days, also shared his thoughts on why he feels the film is perfect for the family. “Horror and comedy are genres that are best viewed collectively in a group. This is a family movie and you can watch it with your young children without them getting scared and that’s always lovely,” he said.

Reminiscing his time on the sets with his co-stars and the team, Saif sent a shout out in his statement that read, “I want to thank everyone associated with the film, my co-actors Arjun, Yami and Jacqueline – Arjun especially, because we were in it together from the beginning and it was a lot of fun jamming with him on our scenes together.”

Those who enjoyed this horror-comedy will be happy to know that a sequel is also in the works. Saif revealed, “We are very happy with the enormous traction the movie has received. We are very excited and have already started working on a sequel – which is the biggest sign of acceptance.”

In the movie, Saif Ali Khan is seen in the skin of Vibhuti Vaidya, a tantrik who is in the business only to make money and enjoy all its perks but prefers to keep himself removed from the potential risks the job poses.
