Anand Pandit: Blessed to have a legend like Amitabh Bachchan in my 51st Film – Times of India

Bollywood filmmaker Anand Pandit sums up 2021 with mutual appreciation before the eventful year winds up. Pandit whose dream project ‘Chehre’ after being delayed by the pandemic finally hit the theatres and garnered great ratings on the OTT platform, tells ETimes, “This was my 51st film in the industry and very special to me because it was the culmination of a dream to work with a legend like Amitabh Bachchan.”

“He is the man I have grown up idolizing and the actor, who, to me, defines the meaning of cinema. So, to have him star in ‘Chehre’ was like coming full circle and a great big tick against the biggest box on my wish list!” he added.

Amitabh Bachchan who impressed the audience with his impeccable acting chops in ‘Chehre’ revealed “Anand Bhai is a fantastic producer and working in this film was a pleasure. What moved me immensely is how thoughtful he is and how well he takes care of every member of his team.”

Talking about the outdoor schedule of ‘Chehre’ held in Slovakia, he recalls that it could have been gruelling but he added, “ I was so petrified at the prospect of working in the sub zero temperatures of snow-clad Slovakia. It takes a lot of preparation and care to shoot in a place where the temperature can go down to even -17 degrees but Anand Bhai ensured that nobody faced any discomfort. We had a big crew but right from the actors to the last production hand, every single person had thermal clothes and the heating arrangements were impeccable.”

When Amitabh Bachchan landed in Slovakia, all his misgivings melted away as he concludes, “Anand Bhai, you did an incredible job and I truly appreciate it. Thank you so much for looking after us all, so well!”
