Fatima Sana Shaikh opts out of the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit ‘Aruvi’ – Exclusive! – Times of India

‘Dangal’ girl, Fatima Sana Shaikh, has finally walked out of the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit ‘Aruvi’. The film’s director E Niwas tried his best to convince her but Fatima told him and the film’s producers- Applause Entertainment and Faith Films- that she would collaborate with them on another project at a later date.

ETimes had brought you the buzz that Fatima has a problem adjusting to the dates on this project. The movie was supposed to go on floors in August 2021 but has been delayed. Fatima had allocated dates for the month of August, and seemingly, those got wasted. Buzz is, the shoot was eventually scheduled for November 20 (tomorrow) and that is the point when Fatima expressed helplessness in accommodating it.

Fatima had even started preparing for the role and had been a part of quite a few readings with E Niwas. But now, E Niwas will have to start from ground zero once again.

FYI, not too long ago, E Niwas and Fatima were both very excited about this project.

E Niwas had said in a statement, “Aruvi is not just a story of a hero. It’s a triumph over the labyrinths of life. It’s totally euphoric and a privilege to explore one of the most beautiful cinematic characters I have come across. Fatima Sana Shaikh is an absolutely befitting choice, and I am super excited to collaborate with Applause Entertainment and Faith Films.”

Fatima had said, “I am so thrilled to do the remake of ‘Aruvi’ and really looking forward to diving deep into the skin of the character. I am really glad that Applause Entertainment and Faith Films have come together with E Niwas to make this great content and I am really excited to embark on this journey.”

We texted E Niwas asking him to talk on this, but he chose to remain unavailable for comment. Our calls also went unanswered.

For those who’ve came in late, Fatima had been signed to reprise the fiery role that Aditi Balan did in the original.
