Shirish made his strong debut as a middle-class family man with the crime thriller ‘Metro’, which was directed by Ananda Krishnan. The charming actor made an extraordinary performance to strike big on his debut performance. He has also bagged several awards for the role, and the success of the film got etched in his name as well and people started referring to him as ‘Metro’ Shirish.

Shirish later stunned the cinephiles with the cop drama ‘Raja Ranguski‘ and delivered a winning role to hit the target in back-to-back films. But his third film ‘Pistha’ got delayed to release, leaving thousands of his fans waiting.

In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Shirish Saravanan shared some unknown facts about his journey in cinema.

Shirish had no releases in the past two years, however, he is calm and composed and shares that patience goes a long way. Although Shirish had no releases, he hasn’t stopped working in film and has completed works for two films during the time. Of which, one film will be releasing this December, while the other one ‘Pistha’ will be a grand theatrical release in 2022.

Like director Ananda Krishnan, Shirish also feels worried since his debut film ‘Metro’ satellite rights are not sold yet, and he couldn’t enjoy the films on small screens.
