In a shocking revelation, Surveen Chawla has revealed details about being body-shamed during her initial days in Mumbai. Speaking about the time when she was trying to transition from TV industry to films, Surveen recalled her first shocking incident. In a recently interview when the actress was asked about being body-shamed because of her weight, Surveen revealed that during her first film meeting in Mumbai, she was questioned about her weight, waist size and chest size.

Surveen went on to add that casting couch was rampant too. She told the host, “It’s just insane. What are the parameters for being here? What are they? It was a period where it, alongside all the casting couch that went on with it and then a lot from the south (film industry) actually and it was quite a difficult period…It was there but I don’t think those are not the right parameters that define you or make you believe or disbelieve on where you want to be or where you are at.”

Surveen marked her acting debut in 2003 with TV show ‘Kahin To Hoga’. She went on to feature in numerous Bollywood films like ‘Hum Tum Shabana’, ‘Ugly’ and ‘Hate Story 2’. In recent times, her performance in web series ‘Sacred Games’ (2019) has received a lot of appreciation.
