Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday’s ‘Gehraiyaan’ trailer launch cancelled due to surge in Covid-19 cases – Times of India

Bollywood had resurrected and was all gung-ho to promote films and release entertainer at the box office. But with the sudden rise in Covid-19 cases and Omicron spread in the country, the industry is slowly retracting. A gala event was being planned in Alibaug for the trailer launch of Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday starrer ‘Gehraiyaan’. However, this has been called off due to the rise in cases. ‘Gehraiyaan’ is set for an OTT release and it remains to be seen how the film will be promoted now.

ETimes has it that Deepika Padukone has not yet returned to India from her New Year vacation with Ranveer Singh, while Ananya Panday has just returned to the city from after a romantic holiday in Ranthambore. All of this and the rise in Covid cases has led to cancellation of ‘Gehraiyaan’ trailer launch event. Directed by Shakun Batra, this film also stars Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapur in pivotal roles.

Sharing BTS pictures from the film’s shoot, Deepika had previously posted on Instagram, “Yes…It has been a bit of a wait. But as the saying goes… Sometimes, the longer you wait for something, the more you appreciate it when it finally arrives! Hopefully, the same holds true here. I took the opportunity to be a part of something that I believe was truly magical. And with love in my heart and utmost gratitude, I cannot wait to share our labour of love with all of you.”
