Remembering Lata Mangeshkar’s tweet full of praise and blessings, Samadipta shared, “On hearing the sad news, I kept looking at her smiling face photo saved as my phone screensaver. I read many people’s tributes online. I couldn’t bring myself to write one. I am deeply saddened by her demise. She has not only inspired many like me but gave my singing career a fillip in 2020 with her tweet. It’s true that on the day of the Saraswati immersion, we lost her. But she will live on through her music and I believe god resides in people’s hearts forever. Many years ago, I had messaged her on Facebook as a student of music. And today, I saw that message is still unread. But in between, I got my biggest reward from her when she tweeted about my singing. Meeting her is a wish that will remain unfulfilled but I am glad with the way she touched my life.”
