As per the official copy of the certificate awarded to the film, Gehraiyaan has been cleared without a single cut. The film certification copy states that the Examining Committee after watching the film recommended certain modifications and excisions imposed by the EC, which have been carried out. The film has been cleared with an A certificate.
Helmed by Shakun Batra, is a film based on complex relationships that have many layers to it and is all set to release on the 11th of February.
One of the biggest talking points of the film is due to Shakun hiring an intimacy director to execute the scenes. Speaking about the same with a news portal, Shakun feels, all the talk around the intimacy in the film is giving it too much importance. “I think there are more conversations about intimacy than probably the story deserves.”
He also added, even though intimacy is an integral part of the film, it’s just a small part of the film’s narrative. He says that he wanted to give it respect like any other department, which in turn would help the actors to feel safe, secure.
Earlier in an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Deepika opened up on her biggest takeaway from the film. “I think the people we have met and the experiences that we‘ve had has been the biggest takeaway from the film. It’s not often that we get to work in an environment with like-minded people where everyone understands each other, everyone has a sense of humour, everyone can be self-deprecating, and I think the energy that we had amongst each other, translated into the movie as well”.
