Actress Tanya Hope who has worked in South films such as ‘Thadam’, ‘Dharala Prabhu’, ‘Disco Raja’, ‘Yajamana’ and more said that she would rather do a project that she doesn’t like than sit with nothing to work on. She said, for her, working continuously is most important!

“Sometimes, I’m lucky enough to get the roles that I am really looking forward to, like challenging roles. But sometimes I don’t get the roles that I want. I think that being part of a project is more important. People are going to have successes and failures all the time. You are going to have hits and flops. These things come and go but the important thing is to keep working,” she said.

Talking about how her debut film made her realise that this is what she is made for, she said, “I don’t think I always wanted to become an actor. I wouldn’t say that but the moment I got my first movie and I was on my first set, I knew that this is what I wanted to do. Since then, I just want to keep working.”

Tanya further shared that rejections are normal in this industry and she doesn’t let the insecurity of that get to her.

“I have insecurities. I think every human being on the planet has insecurities. Some people just handle it better than others. And I think it’s normal for an actor to have insecurities because it’s not like any other job. An actor faces a lot of rejections… like we probably audition every single day and if 10 projects are casting us, then 25 -30 projects are dropping us. So, I think rejections are part of it all. I think that is so important because it also feeds the creativity in you, it feeds the hunger, the ambition. The more life experiences you have, the better your performances can be,” she said.

Ask her if she is satisfied with the way her career is shaping up, she said, “There’s nothing in the world that I would rather do for a living. There is nothing else I would rather do but performing and acting! I’ve been happy and grateful since the time I started working in 2015 when I did my debut movie, I have been working consistently. And work just keeps coming and I always make sure that I take those opportunities because I know that it’s a blessing to keep working. The way that I have and I really feel so grateful about that. Yes, there are roles that I’m so proud of having done, films that I’m so proud of being a part of and there are other roles which were okay, not that challenging, just a role to do. But like I said, there’s nothing else I would rather do.”
