Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is all set to debut in a never-seen-before avatar for his upcoming film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’. On Monday, the makers of the film unveiled the first song from the film where the actor is seen making a splash with the English-Hindi song ‘Firecracker’.

‘Firecracker’ is crooned and composed by Vishal Dadlani and Sheykhar Ravjiani while penned by Kumaar and Vayu. The video of the song begins with Ranveer Singh dancing around a bunch of ladies with veils, aka the ‘firecrackers’ and their attributes through its desi rap song.

‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ is a social drama where Ranveer will be essaying the role of Jayeshbhai, born into a political dynasty, in a society where men call all the shots. Things take a different turn when Jayeshbhai’s wife, played by Shalini Pandey, becomes pregnant with what could be the couple’s second daughter.

Talking about the film, Ranveer had previously said in a statement that his character will change the definition of heroism in films and hopes that the audience will take back an important message. “It will make people laugh, cry, ponder and feel really, really warm when they see a feel-good film whose hero is the most innocent and honest person that you have met in a long, long time,” he said.

Apart from Ranveer Singh and Shalini Pandey, the film also stars Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah in key roles. Helmed by Divyang Thakkar, it will release on May 13.
