PR Movie Review: The Harbhajan Mann starrer’s concept had the potential but it got wronged by the poor writing and execution

STORY: Rajveer (Harbhajan Mann) visits Canada in search of his lost love Amrita (Delbar Aarya), who hasn’t been in contact with him or anyone else for almost a year. Upon reaching Canada, when he finally meets Amrita, he notices that she has changed completely. She is no more the same innocent girl from Punjab but someone who is painted in the western culture completely and would do anything to get a PR.

REVIEW: The writer of the movie Manmohan Singh has done a very good job in picking a topic like this for the big screen. The movie revolves around what all happens to people who go to Canada in the search for P.R. In a very subtle way, he tried to bring forth the struggles that both legal and illegal immigrants face. Now though the thought and the concept without a doubt are very substantial and engaging, the screenplay fails to be impressive.

There are many loopholes in the writing, and the character sketch of the lead actors fails to establish a connection. You will understand the pain Rajveer goes through in order to find Amrita, but you will never be able to relate to his agony. Similarly, Amrita’s story will appear emotional, but Amrita herself will not be able to find a place in your heart.

On the other hand, a couple of other small subplots of the movie kept us entertained. For instance, the family drama between late actor-singer Sardool Sikandar, Amar Noorie, and Karamjit Anmol, will make you laugh for sure. In all honesty, Sardool Sikandar and Karamjit Anmol are the real heroes of the movie, and it is only their screen presence that has saved the ship from sinking in deep.

Further, Kanwaljit Singh’s character will also bring a smile to your face. His big-hearted attributes and happy-go-lucky attitude are simply infectious.

However, if you are going to watch the movie for Harbhajan Mann’s comeback, then you will be disappointed. Unlike his earlier work, like ‘Jee Aayan Nu’, in this film, Mann’s character lacked conviction.

Coming to the music of the movie, it also failed to leave a mark on the cinephiles and music lovers.
