Thor: Love and Thunder leaves Marvel fans impressed; Twitterati say Chris Hemsworth is ‘fantastic’, Christian Bale’s Gorr is ‘best villain’ – Times of India

Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest offering Thor: Love and Thunder starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Christian Bale as antagonist Gorr released in India today. Fans of the franchise seem impressed with the Taika Waititi directorial as they took to Twitter to shower praises on the film. Audience especially seemed to have loved Christian Bale’s villainous act as Gorr. Some of them have termed him as the ‘finest villain in MCU’.

Natalie Portman who was missing in the last film of the franchise Thor: Ragnarok returns in Thor: Love And Thunder as Thor’s ex-girlfriend Jane Foster. Although the film has received mixed reviews from critics, the advance booking in India had crossed Rs 20 crore mark in collection and the film opened to 40-45 percent occupancy which is great for a non-holiday release. In an exclusive conversation, ETimes asked director Taika Waititi how much of Thor’s sense of humour came from Chris Hemsworth and how much came from him. “It’s a mix, a blend. Chris is a very funny guy. He’s got good timing, he’s fast. My humour is a bit more surreal, I don’t know how to describe, but with the combination of the two of us, it seems to work perfectly. We had a lot of fun on the sets. Thor really is Chris!” he said.

Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth film in the Thor franchise after Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013), and Thor: Ragnarok (2017).
