Akshay Kumar’s ‘Ram Setu’ in trouble as BJP Member Subramanian Swamy decides to file lawsuit; says, ‘If he is a foreign citizen, then we can ask he be arrested’ – Times of India


Akshay Kumar is back in yet another controversy as BJP member Subramanian Swamy filed a lawsuit against his upcoming film ‘Ram Setu’. Swamy is seeking compensation for ‘for damages caused by falsification in portrayal of the Ram Setu issue in their film’. “The suit for compensation has been finalised by my associate Satya Sabharwal Adv. I am suing Akshay Kumar, actor & Karma Media for damages cause by falsification in portrayal of the Ram Setu issue in their film for release,” he wrote in a tweet.

In another tweet, Subramanian Swamy also stated that Akshay can be arrested and evicted form the country. “If Actor Akshay Kumar is a foreign citizen then we can ask he be arrested and evicted his adopted country,” he wrote.

The ruling party leader mentioned that the suit for compensation has been finalised by his associate Satya Sabharwal. “A film based on Ram Setu, has been produced by Karma Media, where Dr. @Swamy39’s SC Order has been used as a Poster. Will be filing a Suit,” Satya tweeted along with a poster and Supreme Court’s Order in the petition.

‘Ram Setu’ directed by Abhishek Sharma stars Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushratt Bharuccha and Satya Dev in pivotal roles and follows an archaeologist who sets out to investigate whether Ram Setu is reality or a myth.
