Aryan Khan case: Former NCB chief Sameer Wankhede’s wife Kranti Redkar also received multiple death threats – Exclusive – Times of India

Online reports yesterday revealed that former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede, who was one of the leading investigators on the Aryan Khan case received death threats on social media. On August 14, a twitter user named Aman threatened Wankhede with a message that read, “Tumko pata hai tumne kya kiya hai, iska hisaab tumko dena padega (You know what you have done, and you will have to pay for it).” Another message said, “Tumko khatam kar denge (You will be done in).”

Sameer Wankhede went on to register a police complaint with the Goregaon police station in Mumbai a few days later. ETimes spoke to a source close to the NCB who revealed, “On August 14, after registering an FIR as per SC/ST prevention of Atrocities Act on Nawab Malik, Sameer Wankhede attended a flag hoisting ceremony on August 15 and later visited Chaityabhoomi at Dadar. After that he started receiving death threats through Twitter.”

It may be noted here that former Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik was one of the leading critics of Wankhede’s investigation against Aryan Khan. Malik had even alleged corruption on Wankhede’s part and had also speculated that the former NCB zonal chief had forged his caste certificate.

The source further revealed to ETimes, “The said handle, from which Wankhede received the threats on twitter, was created just a day ago. On August 19, a complaint was registered regarding the same at Goregaon Police Station. Earlier Wankhede’s wife Kranti Redkar had also received multiple death threats on various social media platforms.”

Eventually, Aryan Khan was given a clean chit in the alleged drugs case by the NCB. But the troubles seemed to have been escalating for Wankhede for now.
