‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ star Aamir Khan to jet off to the US for 2-month sabbatical: Report – Times of India

Aamir Khan, who gave three years to Advait Chandan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, has chalked out a two-month trip to the US now that the film is behind him.

According to a report in a news portal, the two-month getaway will be a downtime of sorts for the actor before he kicks off his next project. The audience’s response to ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ has reportedly been heartbreaking for Aamir. However, the actor has taken it in his stride. The actor now wants to utilise the next few weeks to negotiate international sector release plans for the ‘Forrest Gump‘ adaptation, while also enjoying the much-deserved break.

ETimes has already reported that Aamir’s next film is going to be a sports drama, to be directed by RS Prasanna, who has previously made Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. The film may be an adaptation of a 2018 Spanish film called ‘Campeones’, translated as Champions.

The original Spanish film is a comedy-drama with a story of a drunkard basketball coach who is assigned to create a team of unlikely champions. Campeones was Spain’s official entry to the Oscars that year and it was also the country’s highest-grossing movie for 2018.

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya in key roles.
