The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power cast opens up about Bollywood actors and Indian web shows – Times of India

The latest adaptation of author JRR Tolkien’s fantasy novel series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set to drop on September 2 on Amazon Prime. The cast of the film was in Mumbai last week to promote the show and as they caught up with the media, a few of them opened up about their interest in Bollywood and Indian web shows.

Markella Kavenagh who plays the role of Nori says, “I have got a few recommendations after I came here. I want to watch this show called The Family Man. I also enjoyed watching Never Have I Ever (which stars Indian actors). I liked it so much that I just binged watched it.”

Sara Zwangobani, who plays Nori’s mother in the show added, “I am also familiar with this actress who now stays in USA… Priyanka Chopra. I have seen the show that made her quite famous in the US… the one with (that’s in the backdrop of) the FBI academy (Quantico). I have followed that show.”

Whereas Megan Richards, who plays Poppy (Nori’s friend) on the show, shared that she loves the whole song and dance sequences in Bollywood movies and would like to see herself dancing on one of the popular numbers.

Talking further about the show, Sara opened up about how she could relate with her on screen character, “I play a mother in the show, and in real life I am a mother too. So, that is what I identified with my character the most. As I played my part, it did make me think about the kind of parenting I would like to take up moving ahead…and it also made me think a lot about thinking what is right for someone and allowing them to work that out for themselves.”
