Vijay Deverakonda trolled after comment that Shah Rukh Khan is NOT ‘last superstar’ resurfaces – Times of India ►

Vijay Deverakonda’s past statements are coming back to haunt him.

The actor, who has been receiving poor reviews from fans and critics alike for his performance in his Bollywood debut film ‘Liger‘, had trolls poking fun at him for his past comments. After his old tweet confidently saying that the movie would rake in over Rs 200 crore, a statement made by the actor, indicating that he is in the running to be the next superstar after Shah Rukh Khan has now made waves online.

In his interview with a men’s magazine, the actor shared how King Khan inspired him to chase his dreams. ” If he could do it, why couldn’t I?” he told GQ. Opening up about SRK‘s old interview that inspired him, Vijay also went on to recall the actor saying he was the last of the ‘superstars’. “…When I saw his interview, I remember wanting to say, ‘Shah Rukh, you’re wrong. You’re not the last. I’m coming.'”

Vijay’s statement made its way up the social media trends with netizens sharing all sorts of reactions. “Not Vijay Deverkonda saying Shah Rukh Khan was wrong when he said he is last of the stars!!! And that he has just begun his career! LOL I know he is a big star but COME ON! it’s SRK! SHAH RUKH KHAN! He IS the last of the STARS,” a tweeter user said.

Another added, “After witnessing these cringe actors of the ‘Gen- Z’, i can say it that Shah Rukh Khan jaisa koi aa hi nahi sakta. The man was actually spitting facts that he’s the last of the stars. The Greatest there was,is nd will ever be.”

“So @TheDeverakonda is comparing himself with @iamsrk?? Looks like he’s living in a fool’s paradise. High time somebody gives him a reality check & show him his real aukaat. Sala crossbreed. Lmfao,” said another.

In the wake of mixed reviews on its release day, the makers of ‘Liger’ announced on Friday that the movie has grossed Rs 33.12 crore worldwide on Day One in all the languages. ‘Liger’ seems to be staring at the possibility of not being able to recover its budget.

The movie’s makers, though, are confident because of the reception in the two Telugu-speaking states. With no competition this weekend, and the Ganesh Chaturthi holiday (Wednesday) in the middle of the next, the ‘Liger’ team is reportedly confident that it will recover the movie’s costs in the first two weeks.
