Film-maker Prakash Jha is known for his hard-hitting realistic cinema while as an actor as well, he’s done some good characters. He’ll be seen on screen again with ‘Matto Ki Saikil’ where he plays a common man with dreams.

During a recent interview while promoting his film, the film-maker opened up to India Today about the present scenario and sad state of affairs in the industry. Jha confessed that our films are not working because people are no longer investing in scripts, but rather only creating proposals for A-listers. This is amongst the many challenges that are faced in Bollywood today.

Prakash Jha also took a dig at some actors and said that, new actors start demanding the moon just after one hit and people are also ready to pay. This wasn’t the scenario earlier when he made films like ‘Gangajal’ but now actors are also not ready to give more time to a film. That’s why he finds it difficult to cast A-list actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Ajay Devgn in his movies now.

Prakash Jha last project was ‘Aashram 3’ on OTT which has gotten a mixed response while ‘Matto Ki Saikil’ is set to release on September 16.
