Saira Banu, Prem Chopra, Ramesh Sippy and other celebs attend Dilip Kumar film festival in Mumbai – Times of India


In honour of Dilip Kumar‘s 100th birth anniversary PVR Cinemas and Film Heritage Foundation have organised a special film festival called Dilip Kumar: Hero Of Heroes across cities in India. The first screening in this festival was held at PVR in Juhu Mumbai as Dilip Kumar’s 1952 film Aan was screened for movie buffs and fans. Saira Banu was joined by many Bollywood greats to celebrate the occasion.

The evening kick started as a Saira reached the venue and she was seen touching Dilip Kumar’s poster with affection. Other prominent names at the screening were Prem Chopra, Jayshree T, Ramesh Sippy, Kiran Juneja, Ayub Khan, Anees Bazmee and more.

Speaking to ETimes at the screening event, Ramesh Sippy who had directed Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan in Shakti said, “Shakti was my most satisfying film. I learnt from Yusuf saab, I am overwhelmed.”

At the event Saira Banu said, “Amitabh refers to Dilip saab as reference point of acting. There will never been another Dilip Kumar again. Never!”

The Hero Of Heroes Film Festival is being held across 30+ cities in India and the two day festival will showcase Dilip Kumar movies like Aan, Ram Aur Shyam, Shakti and Devdas.
