Has Shahid Kapoor reduced his fee for Anees Bazmee’s film? Here’s what we know… – Times of India

Shahid Kapoor is all set to collaborate with Anees Bazmee for a big ticket comedy entertainer. This will be the first time Shahid and Bazmee will be seen collaborating for a project.

According to a latest report in a news portal, Shahid has reportedly reduced his remuneration for the film that is being produced by Ekta Kapoor and Dil Raju. The actor, who is said to have charged producer Dinesh Vijan a remuneration of R35 crore for the debutant director Amit Joshi’s sci-fi rom-com with Kriti Sanon, is apparently taking home R25 crore for Kapoor and Raju’s joint production.

The report also added that owing to the success of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, Anees is one of the most sought-after directors by the actors. What is important is to make the project commercially viable. Any other adjustment, like profit-sharing, can be worked out later. Shahid reportedly understands this, and adjusted his fee accordingly.

Anees had confirmed working with Shahid exclusively to ETimes in July 2022. He said, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is doing very well, so I will now look at other stories and see which one excites me the most. As for Shahid, he had agreed to do a film with me, a really long time ago. It’s not that he said yes to me just now. We have been talking for a really long time. It’s just that we are waiting for the right story and the film will happen immediately.”

Elaborating further, the filmmaker added, “Shahid has been a friend for so many years. I am working on three to four subjects right now. In another month, I will decide which subject I like and will start with that story.”

Apart from Shahid, Anees has also locked another film with an A-Lister, which will reportedly go on floors towards the end of this year. The second film will be a superhero comedy. Reports were also rife that the director was planning a film with Vicky Kaushal. However, things didn’t work out due to dates.
