‘Varisu’ and ‘Thunivu’ – two big films were released in theatres on January 11, 2023. Both the films received a good reception and the makers have now announced Vijay’s ‘Varisu’ is a blockbuster as the film enters the Rs 100 crore club. On day 6 of the film release, January 16, the movie made a box office collection of Rs 16 crore globally and has now made a total gross of Rs 102 crore, reportedly.
‘Varisu’ was earning at a slow pace during the first week, and has now taken a leap after the Telugu version of the film, which is titled, ‘Vaarasudu’ was released on January 14. The film on day 1 made a gross of Rs 24 crore at the box office and is still continuing to maintain a two-digit crore collection after the first weekend.

Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, ‘Varisu’ is a family emotion drama starring Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The rest of the cast includes Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha Krish and Samyuktha. The music for the movie is composed by S Thaman. The filmmakers had organised a thanksgiving ceremony in Chennai yesterday, (January 16), director Vamshi Paidipally stated that he is happy over the film’s success and reportedly thanked the Tamil audience for their support.
