Pathaan box office collection Day 8: Shah Rukh Khan sees big 20% drop in collections on second Wednesday – Times of India

After a record-breaking week at the box office, Shah Rukh Khan‘s blockbuster film ‘Pathaan’ saw its first big drop in numbers as it entered its second week at the box office.
As trade experts predicted, the film’s collections fell by around 20% on its second Wednesday at the box office. Sectors like Gujarat/Saurashtra and Uttar Pradesh saw drops of over 30%, thus further affecting the box office numbers.

The collections on Wednesday were around Rs 17.25 crore nett, states a report on boxofficeindia. This, in turn, takes the film’s total to an overall Rs 332 crore nett. The film is expected to earn an estimated total of Rs 347 crore nett, during its extended week. This will put it ahead of the lifetime collections earned by all Hindi film releases except ‘Dangal’, ‘KGF 2’ and ‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’. While the film can beat the Aamir Khan starrer and the Yash actioner in days, ‘Bahubali 2’ will be a challenge.

Despite the drop in some sectors, the film has continued its golden run at the box office in Delhi/UP and is likely to become the first Rs 100 crore nett film in the circuit.

Mumbai first hit the Rs 100 crore nett mark in 2014 with ‘PK’. Since then, six other films have also crossed the Rs 100 crore nett mark in the state.

Now, all eyes are on the box office to see how well the film performs on its second Friday and the second weekend which is expected to once again see huge crowds at theatres.

The movie boasts of an average collection of Rs 45 crore nett a day over its first seven days at the box office.

At the worldwide box office, Pathaan has shot past the Rs 617 crore mark, making it the third-highest Hindi language worldwide grosser in just one week.
