Throwback: When Shah Rukh Khan was stopped from visiting the muhurat of his own film because the security guard refused to believe that he is an actor – Times of India

It might sound impossible to believe right now, but there was a time, decades back when many did not know who Shah Rukh Khan was, even though he had already started acting by then. The now 57-year-old superstar, currently basking in the stupendous success of his spy thriller Pathaan had once revealed that he was not allowed to enter the muhurat of his own movie, since the guard stationed at the gate refused to believe that he is an actor.

In an old interview to Simi Garewal, the actor revealed that the movie in question was called Shikar, which eventually got shelved. Recalling the incident, the Swades actor said, “This guy stopped me from entering my own muhurat. It’s a little strange saying, ‘look, I am Shah Rukh Khan’ and I’m saying that I am the hero of this film,” he added.

But the guard, probably just doing his job said, “Bahut dekhein hain heere moti maine tere jaise (I have met many like you). The actor then revealed that he kept requesting the guard saying, “Sab mera wait kar rahe hain aur iske liye mujhe stage pe aana hai. Please mujhe jaane do“. (everyone is waiting for me, please let me go).

Eventually someone from the crew had to come out and explain to the guard, who still refusing to accept him as an actor wryly replied, “Personality toh hai nahi. Yeh kaise hero hai?.” (no personality, how is he an actor)

Post Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan will now be seen in Jawan and Dunki.
