Kareena Kapoor opens up on stardom, believes it is important to be a good actor first – Times of India



Kareena Kapoor, who has completed more than two decades in Indian cinema remains one of the most sought after actors till date. The 42-year-old, who is considered both a path breaking performer and a diva, recently opened up on stardom and revealed that the frill and glamour aside, it is first and foremost important to be a good actor.

In an interview to Harper’s Bazaar, Kareena said that despite her immense popularity, she does not consider herself a star and that everyone wants to be a good actor first. She said, “I don’t consider myself a star. I believe everyone is special. And I think, today everyone wants to be known as an actor, not a star. That is the new standard of cinema.”

She then went on to talk about her own family, the legendary Kapoors and said that they were all extremely fine actors. She added, “In my own family, I have seen Shammi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, and Rishi Kapoor, who were considered some of the finest actors. So, for me, it was always about being a good actor, more than being just a star. “

On the movies front, Kareena will soon be seen in Hansal Mehta’s untitled next. Apart from that, she will also be seen making her digital debut with ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’ with Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma.
