Anubhav Sinha says he was heartbroken when Shah Rukh Khan called ‘Ra.One’ a flop – Times of India

Director Anubhav Sinha Sinha recently spoke about his big film ‘Ra.One’ with Shah Rukh Khan, which had released in 2011.
Recalling his experience of working with Khan, Anubhav said that SRK is more than a star now, he is a part of the DNA of the society. The director further said in an interview with Connect FM Canada that people should learn from him how to respect women and each other. Sinha has learned to open doors for others because of that man. Sinha revealed that SRK respects all religions, all Gods, he also respects children. Grace makes stars and Shah Rukh’s grace is unprecedented, said Sinha.

However, there’s something about SRK that left him heartbroken. When ‘Ra.One’ released 12 years ago, people started calling the film a flop, and it was mounted at a very high budget. Sinha never called it a flop. But he was heartbroken when once he heard Shah Rukh also calling it a flop on television. ‘Ra.One’ made Rs 135 crore in India, 12 years ago and though it didn’t perform as well as people expected it to, it did fine, says Sinha. SRK had given his all to the film and perhaps he was heartbroken, that’s why he said what he said. But, Sinha admitted that SRK’s statement hurt him deeply .
‘Ra.One’ also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and the film’s music is remembered and loved till date.
