Says the source, “Zee Studios released Thalaivi’s Hindi and Tamil versions in India and overseas and had asked the producers Vibri Motion Pictures, for a refund of Rs 6 crores for losses suffered. But the producers are not in the mood to pay.”
The matter has now gone to the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) for a quick settlement of the issue.
Calling this contrversy a propoganda, Kangana had posted, “All this a fake propaganda by film mafia I have sold Emergency to @zeestudiosofficial and Thalaivii recovered all its cost before it’s release. It’s been two years since its release. Endless fake news is being circulated about me, please ignore those jinki jali padi hai (ignore those who are jealous of me).”
Directed by AL Vijay, ‘Thalaivi’ was based on the life of actress-politician J Jayalalithaa. The film hit the screens in September 2021.
