‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ starring Keanu Reeves in the lead role, released in theatres in India on Friday. According to the box office report, the film was off to a good start and even recorded numbers higher than any of the other three parts of the franchise.
The fourth instalment of the movie raked in an estimated Rs 5 crore on its opening day, said a report on boxofficeindia.com. The movie also earned over Rs 2 crore nett for its paid preview shows.

John Wick 4 opened to great reviews from audiences and critics alike, helping boost the collections. The film can expect a great weekend at the Indian markets if it can keep up the buzz.

Meanwhile, on the international front, the movie made a splash with a $30 million collection on Day 1. According to Deadline, this is easily the best opening day ever for a John Wick movie. Meanwhile, the makers who were eyeing a $70 million opening weekend for the film, may just see a boost in numbers with the total weekend collections expected to shoot past the 100 million mark.

The film’s collections on day one have not only beaten all of the other records held by the prequels but also, earned more than the first-weekend collection of 2017’s ‘John Wick: Chapter 2’, which posted an opening weekend of $30.4 million.

The global outlook for the film is estimated at around $115 million from 71 offshore territories including UK, Germany, Australia, France, Italy, Spain and Mexico.
