Sara Ali Khan says she does not associate herself with royals: I’ve lived in Juhu most of my life with my mother – Times of India

Sara Ali Khan’s great-grandfather Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi may have ruled the princely state of Pataudi during the British Raj, but the actress doesn’t associate herself with royals. Despite her lineage, Sara considers herself to be a Mumbai girl who has lived a simple life and isn’t connected to royalty.
“I find it ridiculous when people think that. I don’t associate myself as a royal. I’ve lived in Juhu in Mumbai most of my life with my mother. I go to Bandra to meet my dad. I holiday in Himachal Pradesh and Kedarnath and Jammu and Kashmir. Like seriously, I don’t know what royal means,” Sara told The Hindu.

After her parents Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh were divorced in 2004, Sara and her younger brother Ibrahim Ali Khan have been brought up by their mother Amrita. She is the granddaughter of Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan, who was the last Nawab of Pataudi. The current patriarch of the family is her father Saif Ali Khan.

Earlier, Sara had confessed how she and her brother Ibrahim used to play victims to make their parents Saif and Amrita feel guilty about their divorce. “Sometimes, we played the victim card. Like the obvious way, in my family dynamic. Like, ‘Abba is not here mummy, give this to us,’ at the age of 11, or, ‘Abba, you don’t live with us, give this to us,’ at the age of 15,” Sara told Bollywood Bubble.

Sara will be next seen in her upcoming film Gaslight with Vikrant Massey and Chitrangada Singh. She also has director Homi Adajania’s Murder Mubarak, director Laxman Utekar’s next untitled romantic drama film alongside Vicky Kaushal and Karan Johar’s next Ae Watan Mere Watan.
