Saurabh Shukla can have a cult status for himself, for he is one of the most under-rated actors that we have with a number of memorable characters to his body of work. Recently, fans couldn’t stop gushing over his and Johnny Lever‘s recreated version of the iconic ‘Pathaan’ scene. The actor is currently seen in ‘Pop Kaun?’ which also stars Johnny Lever, the late Satish Kaushik, Kunal Kemmu, Jamie Lever among others.
But Saurabh said in a recent interview that he’s made some really tough choices and felt a jolt when his last big film, Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Shamshera‘ failed at the box-office. Shukla said to indianexpress.com, that he has done many films which are not known to people but he had great fun while doing them. When he himself watched the film, he felt happy for chosing it. But there was something that about ‘Shamshera’ that didn’t work, said Saurabh but it’s a part of the game at the end of it.

The actor also said that he’s always been inclined towards stories which are more real. But he doesn’t think he’s done enough work to make a difference. He added, that when it comes to stories today and how one chooses to act, people are moving towards being more natural and real. Which is why, it’s a good time for actors because they get various shades to play – from funny to quirky to sad and he personally loves this trend very much!
Shukla is a National award winner but for him, the experience of doing a film is much more satisfying. He expressed that, a National award came as a surprise to him and he thought he would feel like the happiest person on earth when he gets it. However, when he got it, he was happy but not as happy as he was while doing the film. Which is why, he doesn’t take awards as a barometer to measure success.
