After ‘Sam Bahadur’, Vicky Kaushal in talks for biopic on Dhyan Chand: Report – Times of India

Just weeks after Vicky Kaushal announced the wrap of Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Sam Bahadur’, new reports claim that the actor is among the front runners to star in a biopic on Hockey legend Dhyan Chand.
Producer Ronnie Screwvala announced his next project that will have director Abhishek Chaubey behind the lens. In a social media post, he wrote, “1500+ goals, 3 Olympic gold medals, and a story of India’s pride. It gives us immense pleasure to announce our next with #AbhishekChaubey – a biopic on the Hockey Wizard of India – #DHYANCHAND.”

While at first rumours were rife that Ishaan Khatter would play the lead in the film, however, new reports on Pinkvilla claim that the makers are in advance talks with Vicky to take up the hockey stick for the flick.

The actor was reportedly impressed when he heard the story, and is said to be “excited about the project.”

Vicky has reportedly been in talks with the team for quite a while, but they will take a final call on the shoot only after he has completed other formalities post Sam Bahadur, which is also being backed by the producer.

Vicky previously collaborated with Screwvala for ‘Love per Square Foot’ and ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. They were also supposed to collaborate on ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’, however, the project was shelved.
