The most anticipated film of the year, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2‘ was released in theatres on April 28. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the historic epic drama features Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Karthi and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles. The film in four days have made more than Rs 200 crores world wide. Taking to social media, actor Vikram shared the official announcement that the film has grossed Rs 200 crore in the first weekend.
With the film grossing at this rate, it has already over taken the records of ‘Varisu’ and ‘Thunivu’, the two big films that were released at the start of this year.
