Anurag Kashyap says he cast Sunny Leone in Kennedy as the role needed a ‘woman over 40, who is sexualised by men around her’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Anurag Kashyap, Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat are enjoying the rave reaction they have received for the screening of the film ‘Kennedy’ at the Cannes Film Festival. Sunny Leone essays the lead role in this entertainer.
Spilling the beans on casting the actress, Anurag said in an interview with a news portal that he has never seen her movies, but has followed her interviews and saw a certain sadness in Sunny’s eyes. The filmmaker said that he required ‘a woman over 40, who is sexualised by men around her, men who are in their 50s and 60s’ and he needed to see the woman who was dealing with it all and using the same to ‘survive and navigate’. Anurag said Sunny fit the bill and he ended up casting her in ‘Kennedy’. The filmmaker added that Sunny slogged hard for the part.
Sunny Leone had recently spoken to ETimes, revealed how she gave an audition for the movie. She had shared, “I was nervous and excited; I knew if I even five minutes to audition, Anurag would like my audition, which he did. During my audition, his entire office was in front of me. I was so nervous because most auditions only have a few people in the room. Then Aurag held a round table and asked everyone if they thought I could play Charlie and if I was a good fit for the role. It was an amazing process working with him.”
