Vivek Agnihotri postpones ‘The Vaccine War’ to Dussehra 2023, here’s why! | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

After the massive success of ‘The Kashmir Files’, director Vivek Agnihotri had announced yet another ambitious project, ‘The Vaccine War’. He has been extensively shooting for the same and had announced to release the movie during Independence Day 2023.
However, recent buzz suggests that this project has been postponed to Dussehra 2023. ‘The Vaccine War’ is nearly complete and VivekAgnihotri is reportedly giving some final touches to the project, during a short shoot in the USA.The filmmaker and his wife Pallavi Joshi plan to host pre-release screenings of ‘The Vaccine War’ in the USA before the film’s theatrical release in India, adopting the strategy they had worked on with ‘The Kashmir Files’. Due to this, the release of ‘The Vaccine War’ in India has been pushed to Dussehra 2023.
Speaking about the project, Vivek had previously shared, “When ‘The Kashmir Files’ was postponed during Covid-19 lockdown, I started researching it. We also started researching with the scientists of ICMR and NIV, who made our own vaccine possible. Their story of struggle and sacrifice was overwhelming and we understood how these scientists fought a war waged against India not just by foreign agencies but even our own people. Yet, we won against superpowers by making the fastest, cheapest and safest vaccine. I thought this story must be told so that every Indian can feel proud of their country.” He added, “This will be India’s first pure science film about a bio-war we had no idea about.”
‘The Vaccine War’ will be based on India’s journey to develop the COVID-19 vaccine amid the pandemic and the impact it had globally. The film will feature Anupam Kher and Nana Patekar in pivotal roles.
