Actor Nana Patekar has addressed the controversy surrounding a viral video depicting him slapping a boy attempting to take a selfie with him on the sets of his film. The video stirred a significant uproar, with many online users criticizing Nana for his perceived attitude towards his fans. Nana has now responded to the viral clip, stating that the incident occurred by mistake.

Nana released a video message on social media and clarified the shocking incident.He said, “A video is going viral in which I have hit a boy. Though this sequence is a part of our film, we had one rehearsal… We were scheduled to have a second rehearsal. The director told me to begin. We were about to begin when the boy in the video came in. I didn’t know who he was, I thought he was one of our crew so I slapped him as per the scene and I told him to leave.”
According to a report on India Today.in, filmmaker Anil Sharma has provided clarification, stating that the incident was part of a scene in his film. He stated that they were filming in the middle of the Banaras where a boy who comes near Nana has to be hit on the head and that’s what happened.
For this movie, Anil Sharma returns to the director’s chair, after delivering the second biggest hit of Indian Cinema in Gadar 2 with Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and his son Utkarsh Sharma. The viral video is from his upcoming film Journey with Nana Patekar and Utkarsh Sharma. In the brief 10-second video, Nana, dressed in a suit and a hat, was preparing for a scene when a boy approached him to take a selfie.
