Navya Naveli Nanda reveals Amitabh Bachchan disapproves of short haircuts for women in family, Shweta Bachchan recalls fighting with Abhishek Bachchan | – Times of India

In a recent episode of Navya Naveli Nanda‘s podcast series What The Hell Navya, her mother Shweta Bachchan Nanda shared some nostalgic anecdotes from her childhood and reminisced about a fight her brother Abhishek Bachchan.
During the podcast, Navya playfully prodded her mother about the time when Abhishek ‘ripped’ a chunk of her hair out. Shweta then clarified that it was more of a ‘cut’ than a ‘rip.’ Their mother Jaya Bachchan laughed and revealed that Abhishek executed the haircut right from the center of Shweta’s head.
Explaining what made Abhishek trim her hair, Shweta disclosed to Navya, “We had a fight. Parents were out at night and we had some kind of argument. I don’t know how he found a pair of scissors, and he just caught my hair and he just…I had to go to school with that. Nani would put pins on my hair.”

Shweta then talked about how Jaya, fondly referring to as Navya’s Nani, would style her hair every morning before school. Recalling the daily routine, Shweta said, “Nani used to do my hair every morning before going to school. I used to get so many whacks on my head with the comb, ‘Sit straight, sit straight’. Braiding my hair tight and then that loop hairstyle.”

The conversation also touched upon Amitabh Bachchan‘s preference for traditional hairstyles, with Navya revealing her grandfather’s disapproval of the women in the family opting for cutting their hair short.
Shweta and Abhishek now share a close bond. They often express their affection for each other on social media platforms. Their camaraderie was evident during their appearance together on Koffee With Karan, where Abhishek affectionately revealed that he is the favourite of his mother while Shweta is favourite of her father Amitabh Bachchan.
