Warina Hussain reveals this war had forced her family to leave Afghanistan 20 years ago, appeals to the UN to intervene and help – Times of India

The current visuals in Afghanistan remind the ‘Loveyatri’ actress Warina Hussain of the time when her family was forced to flee the nation 20 years ago as a result of the war and the turmoil. The actress appeals to the UN to intervene and help the people of the country.

Talking to a news portal, Warina reportedly said that it has been a difficult time for her family and her as what is happening now is eerily similar to what happened to her family 20 years ago when they were forced to leave Afghanistan. The actress also added that although she has been in India for more than a decade now, she understands how difficult it is to move from country to country in search for a better life.

Elaborating further, she added that she was fortunate that India accepted her and it has been her home ever since. However, the actress is also afraid that it isn’t the case for everyone right now. According to her, such a country’s conditions result in emergency immigration, resulting in thousands of refugees and asylum seekers arriving in neighbouring countries, where immediate accommodation may be difficult.

She also reportedly added that the progress of all these years has gone in vain, with Afghanistan’s situation back to square one. According to her, females will go back to being just a machine for fertility and the mentalities of the youngsters will be full of hate and revenge.

The actress appeals to the United Nations to intervene. She added that it is the wish and plea of a woman who doesn’t want her fellow Afghan women to be treated as second-class citizens in their own nation.
