Clad in a casual black and white attire, Alia Bhatt during the audition of her debut Bollywood movie, recreated the college party scene of Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sensharma, where they meet for the first time. Though Alia was very new to the acting world, she very easily read all her lines. The most adorable part was that she was down with a cold and thus was holding a rolled-up tissue paper in her hand and was seen sniffing between the lines. It was an overloaded dose of cuteness to see the actress trying to pull off her audition despite being under the weather.
Further, Alia was also seen dancing on Sonam Kapoor’s song ‘Bahara’, and this goes without saying that she looked utterly adorable doing that as well.

In an interview with PTI, Karan Johar said, “we screen-tested over 400 girls from across Mumbai and other cities. This is when Niranjan Iyengar told me that Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Alia was raring to go and she could just be the right fit for the film. I did her test and was convinced that she had this X factor that could work for the film.”
He also added that he asked Alia to lose a couple of kilos back then, and she worked on herself for good 3 months. Thereafter, she came on the sets in a slimmer avatar and faced the camera.
