Rumy Jafry plans to revive Sushant Singh Rajput’s favourite script – Times of India

Now that ‘Chehre’ has been released and is being appreciated by the audience, writer-director Rumy Jafry has decided to revive his Sushant Singh Rajput film. Speaking to ETimes, Rumy says, “Now that Chehre is out there, I found the opportunity to pull out the script I wrote for Sushant and I read it. Now I have to decide with whom to make the film and when to make it. You know, each time I looked at the script it reminded me of Sushant, so I used to put it back on the shelf. It has been over a year now and it was his favourite script, so I will surely make it.’’

Rumy Jafry’s film for Sushant Singh Rajput was planned on the sets of ‘Chehre’, which features Rhea Chakraborty along with Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi. The filmmaker continues to support Rhea and even plans to work with the actress in the future. He says, “We are no one to pass judgment on Rhea Chakraborty. It is for the court to decide her fate. Besides, we are now seeing a change in the public perception and I am sure it is God’s will too.”

The filmmaker recently said that this time last year, Rhea was termed a witch and gold digger. Today, she is the most desirable woman of the year. He says, “My film’s trailer is out, she is on the posters and has become active on social media too. There is no trolling, no negative reaction, which clearly shows that the public has accepted her. The trolls have also realised that what was happening to Rhea was wrong and that they should wait for the court judgment.”

Rumy feels that good talent will get good opportunities in the current boom of content and adds that Rhea has given a sincere and honest performance in ‘Chehre’. He says, “She will definitely get a lot of work and we need good talent these days and I know for sure the film industry will welcome her.”
