Avani Lekhara wins gold at Tokyo Paralympics 2020! Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, celebs congratulate her for creating history – Times of India

Indian shooter Avani Lekhara created history by winning the gold medal at the Paralympics. Now, Bollywood celebrities have taken to their social handles to congratulate the winner for creating history. The 19-year-old became the first woman from India to win a Paralympics gold medal. She finished with a Paralympic Record and in-process equalled the World Record with 249.6 points. She won the gold in the women’s R2 — 10m Air Rifle standing SH1 event.

Abhishek Bachchan took to his Twitter handle and congratulated her, writing, “A gold-en moment for India! Hats off @AvaniLekhara on becoming the first Indian woman to win gold at #TokyoParalympics2021”

Kareena Kapoor also wished her on Instagram.

Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Congratulations #AvaniLekhara for hitting the bullseye Direct hit and creating history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a #Paralympics gold medal Sports medalWhat a debut! #Tokyo2020”

Rakul Preet Singh wrote, “And it’s a golddddd !! Congratulations #avanilekhara !! India is so proud of you !”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi too congratulated shooter Avani Lekhara for clinching the gold medal. He tweeted, ”Phenomenal performance @AvaniLekhara! Best wishes for your future endeavours.”
