Chehre box office day collection day 4: Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi’s thriller scored Rs 40 lakhs on Monday – Times of India


After several delays Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Chehre’ release on August 27 in theatres across the country. This courtroom drama is directed by Rumy Jafry and has opened to a dull response at the box office. According to the latest report on Boxofficeindia.com, the movie earned Rs 40 lakhs on Monday and now stands at a total collection of Rs 2.25 crore in four days. The film has reportedly earned much of its business in Delhi NCR and East Punjab.

‘Chehre’ that is a mystery drama and continues to face some competition from Akshay Kumar’s spy film ‘Bell Bottom‘, which is currently in its second week of release. Previous reports suggested that ‘Chehre’ may release on OTT, but the makers decided against it and opted for a traditional theatrical release. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi, the film also stars Krystle D’Souza, Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhanth Kapoor and Annu Kapoor in pivotal roles.

Post the release of ‘Chehre’. Rumu Jafry is now planning to revive a film which he had planned with late Sushant Singh Rajput. Speaking about the same, Rumy told ETimes, “Now that ‘Chehre’ is out there, I found the opportunity to pull out the script I wrote for Sushant and I read it. Now I have to decide with whom to make the film and when to make it. You know, each time I looked at the script it reminded me of Sushant, so I used to put it back on the shelf. It has been over a year now and it was his favourite script, so I will surely make it.’’
