Veteran actress Saira Banu, 77, was admitted to Hinduja hospital in Mumbai on Saturday. A close aid of the actress told Bombay Times, that she complained of breathlessness and needed immediate medical attention, so was rushed to the hospital. The actress also had high blood pressure. Currently in the ICU on oxygen, the actress has been undergoing tests.
“The doctors are slated to give an update soon. Her condition is fragile. She might easily need over a week at the hospital to recover. Unko bohot takleef hai” revealed a source close to the family. He explained, “This can’t be the sole reason but the passing away of Dilip sahab in July, and the responsibility of managing everything on her own in that state seems to have taken a toll on her health. She looked after him all her life, like his mother. His loss is bound to affect her. However, barring the usual age related issues, she was okay till Saturday. Saturday onwards her condition deteriorated after which she was admitted to the hospital. Let’s hope she gets better soon.”
