On Rishi Kapoor’s 69th birth anniversary, as the first poster of the late actor’s upcoming film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ trending big time on social media, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja remembered her Chintu Uncle and his legacy with a heartfelt note and an adorable throwback picture.

Sharing the photo on her Instagram story, Sonam wrote, “Remembering your wise words and larger than life smile. Happy birthday, Rishi Uncle. Your legacy continues to shine on!”

Incidentally, Sonam and Rishi had shared the screen for the first time in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra 2009 film ‘Delhi 6’. She had also made her debut with Rishi Kapoor’s son Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ in 2007.

Rishi Kapoor passed away in Mumbai on April 30 after battling cancer for more than two years. He was 67.

Earlier in the day, Rishi Kapoor’s wife, actress Neetu Kapoor, shared a heart-wrenching post on social media. Rishi had stayed in New York for almost a year for his cancer treatment. Neetu Kapoor, who had always been his constant companion, shared how they faced the highs and lows together in the last few months: “I learnt a lot from Rishi Ji during our last few traumatic years in NYC… how we celebrated when his blood counts were high, we dined shopped laughed. In his lows, we just stayed home watched TV, ordered in amazing food and still had some wonderful moments in hope that the next round of chemotherapy he would be better.”

Meanwhile, Rishi’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni too took to her Instagram handle, sharing a priceless throwback photo with her father from her childhood days along with a touching note.
