
Kangana Ranaut has urged the Maharashtra government to open up theatres ahead of the release of her film ‘Thalaivii’. Claiming that COVID cases are on the decline, the actress wrote, “Requesting Maharashtra Government to #OpenUpCinemas in Maharashtra and save the dying film industry and theatres business.”

Karan Johar has allegedly filed for Rs 50 crore insurance claims over the delay in the release of his film ‘Brahmastra‘. Yes, you heard that right. The production is learnt to have been insured for over Rs 400 crore, which could be the total cost of the movie. While few production houses can claim insurance over pandemic-hit delays, Alia Bhatt’s illness is said to be one of the reasons for the unexpected delays. However, no claims can be made over delays due to the pandemic, since it would count as an ‘Act of God’.

Late actor Sidharth Shukla‘s family issued their first statement after his untimely death. In the note, the grieving family thanked his fans and well-wishers for their love and support. They also asked for privacy in these trying times. “It definitely doesn’t end here as he now resides in our hearts forever! Sidharth valued his privacy, hence we request you to allow our family the privacy to grieve,” the statement read.
