As usual, the BFI London Film Festival is segregated into various strands based on emotions and themes like Love, Laughs, Thrill, Debate, Journey, Dare, and many more. The DARE strand offers a curation of films that are confrontational in nature, as in the ones that tend to take you out of your comfort zone.
This year’s Dare strand comprises films from all over the globe including the likes of ‘The Box’ (Mexico), ‘Clara Sola’ (Costa Rica), ‘Curse of the Chippendales’ (USA and others, also from the makers of ‘Searching for Sugarman’ and ‘Man on Wire’) along with India’s own Pedro. This year’s BFI London Film Festival will be held between the 6th and 17th of September with ‘Pedro’ scheduled to screen on both the 14th and 15th. Rishab Shetty, the film’s producer, and director Natesh Hedge took to social media earlier today to gladly announce the film’s selection.

It wasn’t long ago that ‘Pedro’ was selected to compete at the Busan International Film Festival in the New Currents section. ‘Pedro’ made it to the festival as one of the only two films from India, along with the Bengali film ‘Kalkokkho‘ (directed by Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti), in this year’s cut and is set to be in the running among many gems of world cinema.
