Ahead of the official opening of the film this Friday, the actress recently shared with a news portal that she was not really convinced about essaying the role of Jayalalihaa in the first place. She felt she was the ‘worst casting’ for the part — ‘the worst there can be’. Other than that, when writer KV Vijayendra Prasad came up to her with the script and Jaya amma’s videos, she wondered if she could do justice to how she looked — “She is a beautiful, voluptuous woman and she is a Bharatanatyam dancer and she speaks Tamil”
During the interview, Kangana also opined of the fact that Jayalalithaa’s acting style was ‘different’ from hers and ‘more mainstream’. She also had a lot of inhibitions about putting on weight for the part. She was doubtful of how she would look after gaining 20-25 kgs of weight in her 30s for the film. Speaking about getting back to her physique, the actress revealed that the journey back to her fit body wasn’t easy.
Apart from ‘Thalaivii’, the actress will next be seen in ‘Dhaakad’ — a spy thriller wherein he will be essaying the role of an officer named Agent Agni. Actors Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutt are also a part of the upcoming movie. Kangana also has films like ‘Tejas’ and ‘Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda’, in her kitty.
