Netizens troll Tamil movie ‘Pei Mama’ for copying Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Bhoot’ poster and using face-swapping – Times of India

Tamil movie ‘Pei Mama’, which is scheduled to hit the screens on September 24, has literally lifted a poster from Bollywood movie ‘Bhoot’. Using face swapping technology, Vicky Kaushal’s face has been swapped with that of the film’s lead actor Yogi Babu. ‘Pei Mama’ is also a horror movie and has swiftly made use of material readily available from their Hindi counterparts. Netizens soon started pointing out the glaring similarity on social media and trolled ‘Pei Mama’ for lack of creativity.

‘Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship’ featured Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. The horror drama was directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan. The entertainer narrated the story of an officer who has to move an abandoned but haunted ship that was lying on Juhu Beach.

The makers of ‘Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship’ had planned to make the film into a horror franchise. But the first film tanked at the box office and there has been no update about its sequel.
