Will Shahid Kapoor play a cop in Ali Abbas Zafar’s next OTT movie? – Times of India

Shahid Kapoor is eagerly waiting to debut on OTT with an engaging drama directed by Raj-DK and in the meantime, he has also signed up for a web movie with seasoned filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar. And according to a news portal, this OTT movie will be an official adaptation of French film Nuit Blanche’ (Sleepless Nights). The actor will reportedly essay the role of a cop chasing drug lords. The makers of this digital film are planning to lock an A-list female actor opposite Shahid Kapoor.

Interestingly, before Shahid Kapoor was roped in for this movie, buzz suggested that the makers of ‘Sleepless Nights’ remake had offered the film to Abhishek Bachchan. In 2019, rumours were rife that Abhishek will step into the role of French actor Tomer Sisley for ‘Nuit Blanche’ but seems like Shahid has bagged the opportunity.

Shahid Kapoor was last seen on the big screen in 2019’s biggest hit – ‘Kabir Singh’. Post this the actor began shooting for ‘Jersey’ with filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri. This sports drama is a remake of 2019 Telugu film by the same name. Shahid essays the role of a cricketer in ‘Jersey’, which also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in pivotal roles. Apart from this, Shahid has a quirky drama series directed by Raj and DK, with Raashi Khanna playing his leading lady. Speaking about his digital debut, Shahid had previously shared in a statement, “I loved the story idea when I first heard it and since then it has been an exciting ride so far! Can’t wait to share this series with the audience”.
