When Shatrughan Sinha blamed Rekha for his rift with Amitabh Bachchan – Times of India

Veteran actors Shatrughan Sinha and Amitabh Bachchan shared a rocking association back in the 70s. But there were times when the duo didn’t get along well off-screen. They have worked together in films like ‘Naseeb’, ‘Yaar Meri Zindagi’ and others. In his memoir ‘Anything But Khamosh: The Shatrughan Sinha Biography’, the senior actor made a lot of revelations about Big B.

He also revealed that he returned the signing amount of lots of films because of Amitabh Bachchan. He said that they were not on good terms with each other. He had said, “The problem was the applause I was getting for my performances. Amitabh could see the response I was getting. That’s why he didn’t want me in some of his films.”

Shatrughan also spoke about his and Big B’s rift back then. He went on to say that Zeenat Aman or Rekha were one of the reasons and contributed a little to the rift. He added, “During Kaala Patthar, a heroine who was known to be very friendly with him, would visit him. She would come during Dostana also but not once would he bring her out and introduce her to any of us. In showbiz, everybody knew who was visiting whom. The media would immediately know if Reena was in my make-up room. Such things can never be hidden in our world.”

Later in 2016, Big B was seen attending the launch event of Shatrughan’s memoir.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Big B will soon be seen in Nag Ashwin’s next with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. He also has ‘Jhund’, ‘Mayday’ and ‘The Intern’.
